It’s February, the month of love, friendship, and, of course, the sweet things in life. I want to share a story about Lisa, who always keeps things real—and who made me laugh out loud with her latest sweet treat adventure.
Lisa is all about supporting local businesses, so one day while grabbing coffee, she spotted a new cupcake shop and decided to check it out. I mean, who could resist? Local shop + cupcakes? That’s a win.
"I thought, I haven’t had breakfast yet, and it’s nearly lunchtime," she said. "I’ll grab a little treat and support the shop while I’m at it. Now that’s a win-win."
The options were endless—red velvet (her favorite), lemon, chocolate—you name it. But of course, Lisa had a hard time deciding (shocker). The salesperson suggested a sampler pack of 12 mini cupcakes. Lisa figured, “Perfect! I’ll grab them, eat one or two, and save the rest for later.”
Well, one thing led to another and Lisa finished all 12 cupcakes! Yep, all of them. But here’s the kicker—she wasn’t upset about it. She was pretty content having enjoyed each one. And we had a good laugh about it.
"I had a slight indulgence and now a happy heart," she said. "Sometimes you just need a little (or a lot, in my case) sweetness in your life."
After indulging in all those cupcakes, Lisa surprisingly didn’t fall into a sugar coma. In fact, we went straight into preparing for a client who needed help decluttering and organizing their space. That’s when I realized something: organizing is creating space for things that truly matter, and that, can feel sweeter than 12 cupcakes.
Decluttering isn’t just about getting rid of things; it’s about making room for what’s important. When your space is organized, it can bring a sense of calm and clarity that’s as satisfying as any treat. That’s why we love helping clients create order in their homes—because it’s a “sweet thing” we all deserve: a space that feels open, peaceful, and intentional. It’s like giving yourself the gift of a little more order in a world that often feels chaotic.
So, what’s the takeaway? Do what makes you happy! Maybe it’s treating yourself to cupcakes, or perhaps, it’s creating an organized space where you can breathe and think clearly. For Lisa and I, it’s about balancing the sweet moments of indulgence with the satisfaction of a well-organized life. Because let’s be real—both, indulgence and organization can leave you feeling pretty sweet.
